GAS SERVICE WORKERS COURSE
A 69-hour training course supported by Energy Market Authority (EMA) and PowerGas Ltd.
This course covers the current technical and safety requirements for Town Gas Distribution and Utilisation work. It is a mandatory requirement for a person who is interested in becoming a Licensed Gas Service Worker. This course is one of the requirements to apply for a Gas Service Worker's License with Energy Market Authority (EMA). COURSE OBJECTIVES
Participants will acquire the necessary technical and safety knowledge for good town gas distribution and utilisation practices.
Successful completion of this Gas Service Workers course is one of the requirements stipulated by EMA for any person who wishes to be a Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW). GAS SERVICE WORKER LICENSE APPLICATION WITH (EMA)
Course participants who have successfully completed this course and wish to proceed to apply for a Gas Service Worker's License with Energy Market Authority (EMA) must satisfy EMA's requirement.
Course participant who meets either one of the following requirements may apply for a gas service worker licence:
a) Holds a Builder Certificate in Plumbing and Pipefitting and a Gas Service Workers Course Certificate issued by the BCA Academy, and has at least 2 years practical experience in Singapore relevant to the work to be performed by a gas service worker; or
b) Holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate in Gas Technology issued by the BCA Academy, and has at least 2 years practical experience in Singapore relevant to the work to be performed by a gas service worker; or
c) Holds a Gas Service Workers Course Certificate or Certificate in Gas Technology issued by the BCA Academy, and has not less than 10 years of practical experience in Singapore relevant to the work to be performed by a gas service worker.

Participants who have attended at least 75% of the training sessions and passed the end of course test will be issued with the Certificate of Successful Completion (CSC). ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS
Intake: Regularly subject to minimum class size enrolled.
Duration: 69 hours (18 evenings)
Training: 67 hours; Test/Assessment: 2 hours
Venue: BCA Academy, 200 Braddell Road
Time: Evening Lesson: 6.00pm to 10.00 pm
Test: 6.30pm to 8.30pm

$645.00 (with SDF Subsidy*)
$278.04 (with Enhance Funding for SME*)
$278.04 (with Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy for self-sponsored applicant#)
*Skills Development Fund (SDF) is available for this course. Prior to the registration, company is required to enrol their staff (Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident) through SSG’s SkillsConnect system at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg. Eligible applicants pay the remaining fee (after deducting SDF Funding) and GST.
# Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy
- Eligible for Singaporean aged 40 and above only
- Individual applicant shall submit completed application form, last 3 month’s pay slips, and payment together with NRIC for verification at BCA Academy
- Applicant will be required to sign a declaration for the subsidy
Note: Course applicants may be eligible to receive course fee funding from government agencies subject to terms and conditions. If the applicant fails to fulfil the terms and conditions of the funding such that BCA Academy (BCAA) is unable to claim the funded portion of the course fee from the funding agency, the participant will be required to pay BCAA the funded portion of course fee that is no longer claimable by BCAA.
