The increasing sophistication of property owners and their rising expectation for good governance in managing strata-titled developments could pose a daunting challenge to the management councils. It is important that members of the management councils of such developments are well-equipped with the knowledge of the regulatory framework and the related accounting and auditing requirements under the provisions of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act (BMSMA).
At the end of the course, participants will gain an insight into the regulatory framework, the roles and responsibilities of the stakeholders in strata developments, the procedure in conducting general and council meetings of the Management Corporation, the by-laws of Management Corporation and the accounting & auditing requirements that govern the managing of strata property developments. Topics on budgeting, maintenance, management and sinking fund will be discussed. A module on handling disputes is included.

Mr Chua obtained his Bachelor of Real Estate (Property Management) from the National University of Singapore and Bachelor in Land Economics from the University of Technology Sydney. Currently, he handles works relating to strata management.
MR LIM TAT - Managing Partner, Aequitas Law LLP
Mr Lim was called to the Singapore Bar in 1989 and admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2004. Mr Lim had vast experience in practice and law relating to management corporation and strata title issues. Mr Lim is an IMI-certified mediator and accredited with many distinguished institutions in many countries. He is presently a Principal Trainer of SMC’s Adjunct Training Faculty and has been recognized for his legal profession.
MR CHAN KOK HONG - Managing Director, SavillsCKH Pte Ltd
Mr Chan heads SavillsCKH Pte Ltd. With his expert knowledge of the BMSMA, he is one of the foremost professionals in the management of strata titled properties. In this capacity, he has been invited to present papers in property seminars all over South East Asia. He has also been asked to discuss issues on property defects and to voice his professional opinions at seminars and conferences.
MS WU XIAOWEN - Advocate & Solicitor, Director, Lexton Law Corporation
Ms Wu has extensive experience in dealing with a whole range of issues faced by or relating to management corporations including operations, claims and disputes, contracts, tenancy and licensing matters, property defects, the making and enforcement of by-laws, and other matters relevant to management corporations.

Philip has extensive working experience as an auditor and as a consultant for 15 years at senior management positions with both local medium size public accounting firms and an international public accounting firm.
