About the Course

Overview

The CoreTrade scheme was introduced to facilitate the construction sector in building up a core group of skilled and experience construction personnel to anchor and lead the construction workforce.

From April 2012, a new registration category of CoreTrade Supervisor has been introduced. This new category will extend the career progression path for CoreTrade personnel to move up from Tradesmen, Foremen to Supervisors class.

Objectives

  • Explain the requirements based on latest codes of practices, standards, regulations and act relevant to the respective work category such as Structural, Architectural or M&E works;
  • Apply good practices at sites to improve quality, and productivity of works keeping WSH in mind;
  • Get updated with new technologies, installation methods, materials, tools or equipment for the respective work category;
  • Co-ordinate work processes incorporating advanced and productive technologies;

Who Should Attend

Workers seeking to qualify for the registration of CoreTrade Supervisors.

Assessment & Award

A participant must attain at least 75% of physical attendance to be eligible to take the examination at the end of the course.

It is compulsory to bring along a valid CoreTrade Acknowledgement Notice (AN) to be allowed to sit for examination. Participant needs to make a new CoreTrade Application if the AN expired before the examination date. Please note that participants who do not hold a valid AN will not be allowed to attend the test or their test results become invalid.

Those who pass the examination will be eligible for CoreTrade Supervisors registration.

Registration

Applicant to submit the following documents at BCAA Online StoreFront (www.bcaa.edu.sg/OSF) for registration:

  • CET Renewal for CoreTrade Acknowledgement Notice
  • Photocopy of applicant identification (NRIC for local and Work Permit/Employment Pass for foreigner – front & back)
  • Payment by GIRO or Bank Transfer (Individual/Company)

Fee (inclusive of 9% GST)

  • Fee payable after 50% funding support
  • For Singaporeans and Singapore PRs, including those sponsored by non-SME companies

  • Fee payable after 70% funding support
  • Singaporeans 40 years old and above 
    OR
  • SME company sponsored Singaporeans or Singapore PRs

Participant must achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all assessments. BCA Academy reserves the right to recover the funded amount from the participant (self-sponsored) or employer (company sponsored) if participant did not meet the eligibility criteria.
