OVERVIEW

The energy efficiency standard in BCA Green Mark 2021 (GM: 2021) has been calibrated and aggressively raised in tandem with the revised standards in the regulatory minimum in environmental sustainability for both new and existing buildings. Hence, it is essential to promote the adoption of sustainable energy management and operation of buildings.

OBJECTIVES

This course aims to equip industry practitioners with knowledge to perform a holistic analysis of existing building’s energy performance and assess its feasibility for retro- commissioning.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Establish an effective energy management and audit process;
• Develop a feasible performance contracting plan for implementation; and
• Differentiate the various steps involved in retro-commissioning.

TRAINER / LECTURER

BENJAMIN LAI is currently the Director – Transformation and Strategy in Kaer Pte Ltd. In his current role, Ben is responsible to formulate business strategies, exploring disruptive technologies and identifying innovative solutions to continuously transform Kaer’s air-conditioning-as-a-service (ACaaS) business models and to propel Kaer to the next phase of quantum leap. He is an energy services technopreneur aspiring to promote energy efficiency and environmental sustainability through harnessing innovative technologies and disruptive business models to create simple yet practical integrated solutions to enhance building performance and industrial processes etc.

CHALLA VENU KUMAR is the Chief Operating Officer of Barghest Building Performance Pte. Ltd, Singapore. He has over 25 years of experience in HVAC, Electrical, Building Automation and Instrumentation fields. As an in-charge of energy conservation department, Kumar has implemented energy Conservation Projects in Singapore and Asian region which have cumulative savings over 150 Million kWh/Year.

ER. PATRICK FOONG is the founder of Singapore Green Engineers Pte Ltd (SGE), with a key mission to help building owners create a better, more cost effective and sustainable environment through the implementation of energy-efficient strategies and green technologies. Under his leadership, SGE is one of the leading energy services company (ESCO) which is one of the certified Energy Performance Contracting firm accredited by Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC). He has also received the prestigious accolade of Green Engineer of the Year 2014 from BCA-SGBC.

ASSESSMENT & AWARD

Participants are required to complete the MCQ online assessment by 24 April 2024, 2359 hrs.
An e-Certificate of Successful Completion (e-CSC) will be issued to participants who:
• Achieve at least 75% class attendance; and
• Pass MCQ test and group project assignment.
