Supervision of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) Projects

OVERVIEW

Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) as one of the game-changing technologies that support the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) methodology to significantly improve productivity and safety onsite, and with fewer onsite headcounts. With the increased adoption of PPVC projects, it is critical that the supervision of projects involving PPVC is conducted efficiently and effectively for a smooth and productive project delivery. The 2-Day course aims to provide the necessary training for supervisory personnel in the planning and supervision of PPVC projects.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, the participants would be able to supervise and coordinate PPVC works more effectively.

Learning outcomes of the proposed course are as below:
• Appreciate the use of DfMA technologies for better construction productivity
• Describe challenges of PPVC methods compared with traditional and precast construction techniques.
• Apply the process of PPVC production for site planning works
• Plan site arrangement for the PPVC erection works.
• Explain the erection process of PPVC and challenges applied
• Implement quality checks and inspection requirement during production and installation stages.
• Apply the PPVC supervision aspects in a project CONTENTS
• Introduction to PPVC
• Comparisons between traditional, precast and PPVC construction
• PPVC Modules Production
• Works at Fit-Out Factory
• Planning and management of site activities
• Erection and construction of PPVC structure
• Quality checks and inspection in construction
• Case study of a completed PPVC (PC or Steel) project
• Discussion and Q&A

This course is mainly targeted at builders’ supervisory personnel such as:
• Assist. C&S Engineer/Assist. Project Manager
• Technical Executive/Project Management Executive
• Following personnel are also welcome to attend the course:
- Construction Project Engineers
- Construction/Project Managers

Participant must achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all assessments. BCA Academy reserves the right to recover the funded amount from the participant (self- sponsored) or employer (company sponsored) if participant did not meet the eligibility criteria. ASSESSMENT AND AWARD

This course involves assessment. A e-Certificate of Successful Completion (e-CSC) will be issued to participants who fulfill the following requirements:
i. Achieve at least 75% class attendance; and
ii. Score at least 50% for the MCQ test.
