Good Industry Practices - Drywall Installation including Wet Areas Application

OVERVIEW

Drywall as internal partition is gaining popularity as one of the leading solutions towards achieving quality finishing with higher productivity. Besides facilitating a cleaner, quieter and environmentalfriendly worksite, drywall construction is quicker with lesser labour requirement. The use of drywall internal partition is encouraged and recognized under CONQUAS 8th edition and forms part of the CONQUAS Enhancement Series on Good Industry Practices. This GIP course aims to highlight the benefits and good practices of drywall installation introduced in the GIP practice guide book on Drywall Internal Partition and extends the knowledge to other applications for wet areas and Prefabricated Bathroom Unit (PBU).

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this course are:
• To provide participants a good understanding on drywall design including drywall structure, material, preparation and installation, common defects and corresponding remedies.
• To equip participants with knowledge of good practices on wet areas application of drywall
• To introduce to the participants the design consideration of drywall for Prefabricated Bathroom Unit (PBU)

TRAINER / LECTURER

MR TEO WEE HWEE, Technical Manager, USG Boral
Mr Teo has more than 13-year experience in providing technical solutions for Drywall and Ceiling systems. His main roles include devising system proposal, managing products and systems testing and conducting systems training. Over the years, he has been invited to participate in various workgroups and working committees formed by government agencies such as Building and Construction Authority and Singapore Civil Defence Force. Mr Teo was also involved in developing the Good Industry Practices Guidebooks for Drywall Internal Partition and Prefabricated Bathroom Unit.

Participant must achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all assessments. ASSESSMENT & AWARD
