About the Course

Overview

Recognising that disputes may arise even out of the most carefully drafted contracts, it is important to understand the processes and key skills that are necessary in common dispute resolution mechanisms. Understanding how each dispute resolution mechanism works before selecting the appropiate mechanism to govern the disputes will also provide better management of contract downstream.

This course is designed for practitioners in the construction industry who wish to learn the basic principles of construction contract drafting and appropriate dispute resolution. The objective of the course is to provide a proper training platform to impart the necessary technical skills and requisite legal knowledge in contract drafting.

Trainer / Lecturer

ANIL CHANGAROTH (FCIArb FSIArb, FPIArb) an internationally accredited Mediator, Arbitration, Adjudicator, Dispute Board, Restorative Justice and Online Dispute Resolution practitioner) is RHTLaw Asia Co-Head of ESG Practice and Law Society of Singapore Chair of its new ESG Working Group. Anil an Advocate and Solicitor of Singapore, Solicitor of England and Wales, having qualified as a Barrister (Middle Temple England), holds a Masters of Science in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution (King’s College London & National University of Singapore) with his practice in Asia Pacific primarily in Civil, Commercial, and Criminal Dispute Resolution and front end contract advisory with a focus on Infrastructure, Building and Construction industry. He is also trained in Investor State Arbitration & Mediation, graduate certificates in Law and Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Singapore Management University) and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (Cambridge University Judge Business School). Anil who speaks and trains internationally on Construction Law, Appropriate Dispute Resolution and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance), has since about 2015 or so been Honorary Legal Advisor to the Singapore Institute of Architects and Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers.
