Overview
This course covers the current technical and safety requirements for Town Gas Distribution and Utilisation work. This course is one of the requirements to apply for a Gas Service Worker's License with Energy Market Authority (EMA).
GAS SERVICE WORKER LICENSE APPLICATION WITH (EMA)
Course participants who have successfully completed this course and wish to proceed to apply for a Gas Service Worker's License with Energy Market Authority (EMA) must satisfy EMA's requirement.
Course participant who meets either one of the following requirements may apply for a gas service worker licence:
- Holds a Builder Certificate in Plumbing and Pipefitting and a Gas Service Workers Course Certificate issued by the BCA Academy, and has at least 2 years practical experience in Singapore relevant to the work to be performed by a gas service worker; or
- Holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate in Gas Technology issued by the BCA Academy, and has at least 2 years practical experience in Singapore relevant to the work to be performed by a gas service worker; or
- Holds a Gas Service Workers Course Certificate or Certificate in Gas Technology issued by the BCA Academy, and has not less than 10 years of practical experience in Singapore relevant to the work to be performed by a gas service worker.

Objectives
Participants will acquire the necessary technical and safety knowledge for good town gas distribution and utilisation practices. Successful completion of this Gas Service Workers course is one of the requirements stipulated by EMA for any person who wishes to be a Licensed Gas Service Worker (LGSW).
