Overview
Under the Singapore Green Building Masterplan (SGBMP), more ambitious targets to green the Built Environment sector has been set. The Masterplan, dubbed “80-80-80 in 2030” captures our collective commitment to pursue more ambitious standards in out Built Environment to meet our global climate change commitments. It targets greening 80% of Singapore’s buildings by Gross Floor Area (GFA) by 2030, 80% of new developments (by GFA) to be Super Low Energy (SLE) buildings from 2030, and 80% improvement in energy efficiency to best-in-class green buildings by 2030. As such, the BCA Green Mark 2021 (GM: 2021) was recently launched where it covers different types of project – new developments, existing buildings and buildings with major retrofit, which entails the need for industry practitioners to be equip with the various holistic skillsets. Together with this approach, this enhanced GMAP is streamlined to keep professionals abreast on the latest criteria.
Starting from January 2024, our Green Mark courses have been updated to align with the latest edition of Green Mark (GM:2021) – the 2nd edition.
We would like to share three key updates to GM:2021 2nd edition.
- Energy Efficiency: Introduction of GM:2021 In-Operation for Existing Residential Buildings.
- Whole Life Carbon:Inclusion of accounting for A5 Construction Phase embodied carbon emissions for all building typologies.
- Overall Enhancements:
- Greater clarity provided on criteria and scoring framework.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at the future runs of Green Mark courses.
